“Outstanding” Granta Medical Practices

Granta Medical Practices has been rated Outstanding following an inspection in October by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Inspectors rated the service Outstanding overall, with subsection rating of outstanding for being responsive and well led. The service was rated good in the domains of being safe, effective and caring.

Granta Medical Practices provides health care to 44,000 patients and comprises of Sawston Medical Centre, Linton Health Centre, Barley Surgery, Market Hill Surgery and Shelford Health Centre. As a large single practice, Granta is recognised as a Primary Care Network and is able to offer services such as extended hours appointments, group consultations and social prescribing.

The CQC acknowledged that:

They work together and with other organisations to deliver effective care and treatments and are consistent and proactive in helping patients to live healthier lives.”

Staff were proud of the practice as a place to work and spoke highly of the culture. There was strong team-working and support across all areas and a common focus on improving the quality and sustainability of care and patient’s experience.”

Granta is obviously proud of this recognition as it shows dedication to both the team and patients. We do not want to rest on this however and want to use this as the foundation on which to continually improve, adapt and develop our services.
