Thank you to everyone who takes the time to give us positive feedback. It means the world to us, especially during the difficult times we all find ourselves in.
“On Wednesday 18th I attended an appointment at Shelford Medical Centre. After (excellent) treatment, my mobile was playing up, so at 5.15 the receptionist booked a taxi for me. Allie (unsure of the spelling) chased it at 5.45 and they assured her a car was on its way. At 6 p.m. the surgery was closing up but the reception staff refused to let me wait outside in the cold and Annette said she would wait with me. Allie then decided to join us and over the next 30 minutes chased Panther several times. My taxi finally arrived just after 6.45 p.m.
At no point did either of them make me feel a nuisance or show any sign of annoyance, merely concern for me. They made me feel so safe and cared for, something I find rare these days. Their actions turned a potential disaster into almost a pleasure as we chatted away about a number of topics. I am 75 with underlying health conditions and freely admit the cold would have done me no good at all.
I feel very proud of the way they acted and felt it worth bringing to your attention. The receptionists are Shelford are always kind and caring but these two really went the extra mile to the extent that on my next visit on Monday I am taking a box of chocolates for each of them as a small token of my sincere gratitude. They are truly a credit to Granta.” – Mrs A
“COMPLIMENT and THANK YOU. I wanted to thank Dr Jane Collier for a sympathetic and supportive consultation with my elderly mother. From Dr Collier gently encouraging my mother to include me in the consultation, to the sympathy and understanding that she showed in a difficult consultation, she was exemplary. Can I also thank the Sawston Receptionist for handling me so calmly when booking the appointment and evidently giving Dr Collier a clear explanation of the concern. Thank you so much.” – Ms K
“Just to say fantastic service today at Linton. After a rushed morning I arrived without a mask, a few minutes late … The receptionist and nurse Kate who did my smear were both kind, friendly and made the whole experience so much easier – and I am sorry I was late. In addition Kate took time to ask me about menopause which in current times was truly excellent five star care. Thank you! I would also like to thank Dr Shields who I had my most recent telephone appointment with as she was extremely helpful, took her time with me and I really appreciated this.” – Mrs T
“I have recently heard some criticism of the practice around the village concerning appointments. I find there to be no problem with appointment access. So I thought I would l write to commend your current way of working. I have found it excellent. I recently needed to speak to the GP who knows me well. I rang at 8.00am , had a telephone appointment at 8.40, the GP booked me a blood test at 10.00am that day and I was able to collect my prescription at the same time . All sorted in the space of two and a half hours !! Brilliant! Much better than waiting 5 or 6 weeks for even longer to get an appointment with my preferred GP. Well done! I have used this example whenever I hear the voices complaining Please do not change back to the old system. Feel free to use this commendation however you wish.” – Mrs C
“… I would like to take this opportunity of reinforcing my wife’s Facebook comments about your post on Sawston and to say a)this particular encounter has been wholly satisfactory and indeed in this case, better and more efficient than the traditional route and b) none of you deserves any abuse at any time, let along in the current difficult circumstances …” – Mr P
“May I just take a moment to say that every single interaction that both I and my mother have had with Granta has been absolutely superb. We try not to need much but even with the few interactions we have had all staff have been absolutely lovely and so helpful. A big thank you to you all.” – Ms P
“This is a big thank you! I called Sawston and spoke to a lovely, helpful and polite receptionist who arranged a telephone appointment with Dr Al Shaikh, who listened and spent all the time I needed to discuss my health issues. I am very happy to have an action plan and to have started some treatment and want to say a big thank you to all involved. I hope this will counteract some of the bad press GP practices are currently receiving. Please pass this to all your staff who, I am sure, are also doing their very best to be helpful and especially to the receptionists that I speak to personally. Thank you once again.” – Mrs B

“I just wanted to write to say how impressed I am with two doctors I had contact with today. I have a phone consultation with Dr Pinnock at the Linton practice as I had a lesion on my back. I was concerned that it was skin cancer and she was very reassuring, after looking at a photo of the lesion, that it it was not cancerous. A few minutes later Dr Clubb phoned me and said he could remove it this afternoon. What amazing service but more importantly what wonderful consultation manners the two doctors had. Dr Clubb, in particular, put me at my ease and carried out the treatment sensitively and had time to talk and listen. I appreciate the NHS so much and feel we are very lucky to have such dedicated GPs in these difficult times.” – Mrs S

“I attended a Men’s Health Check and wanted to say how professional and helpful Jessica (nurse) was. It was a most pleasurable experience and please pass on my thanks to her. Yet another success story for Granta Medical Sawston!” – Mr B
“I have been asked to pass on the same message from many people who that their vaccination was exceptionally well organised. One lady said she was concerned at the thought of having a vaccination but everyone from the car park to the nurses was so kind, calm and caring that she relaxed and felt quite tearful.” – Mrs S
“I would just like to say thanks to all your receptionists for always looking after me when I call the Sawston surgery. They are always polite and professional, but most importantly both friendly and helpful, which is important when you’re not feeling too good.” – Mr C
“I would just like to place on record my sincere thanks for the way my son and I have been dealt with by your Clinical Pharmacist Katie. She exemplifies all that is best in the NHS and in Granta Medical Practice in particular.” – Mr T
“I wanted to feed back my recent positive experience. I had a medical issue recently and called the practice in the morning. I was called back at lunchtime and offered a face to face appointment at a convenient time later that day. I had tests done at the surgery and subsequently at hospital. All in all, from the initial call to all the tests being completed and the issue resolved it was about a week. The service I was offered was excellent and efficient. I particularly wanted to feed this back as I know the service is under a lot of pressure, particularly with the misinformation that GPs aren’t seeing people. So I wanted to let you know that my experience was very positive.” – Ms T
“Please could you pass on my sincere thanks to all the kind people at Sawston Medical Centre who looked after us so well whilst having our Covid jabs. It means a lot of extra work for them all and it is much appreciated that we were able to come locally to receive our jabs.” – Mrs S
