Trained at Birmingham University and graduated in 1992. After qualifying went initially to New Zealand, where worked doing General Medicine, and then back to the UK (Chester and Manchester) where embarked on a career in Paediatrics.

Having got MRCPCH in 2000 and MRCGP in 2001, moved to Cambridge to specialise in adult and paediatric Accident and Emergency at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and was a registrar there for 2 years.

Then decided that overall General Practice was better for work/life balance, especially as has a young family and a husband who is a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Addenbrooke’s. So worked as a salaried GP for 10 years at Barley Surgery before becoming a partner at Granta in 2017.

Still does one session per week in A and E “to keep her hand in” which enjoys, but loves getting to know her GP patients and building good relationships with them.

Outside of work loves music and singing especially. Belongs to one of the many choirs in Cambridge, which she says is a great social event!
