Patients eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination include those patients who will be 65 years old before 31st March 2021, and those patients 6 months of age and up to and including 64 years of age if they fall into one or more of the “at risk” groups. Details of the “at risk” groups can be found here on the NHS website. If you are unsure if you are eligible for a free vaccination please feel free to ring us and we can let you know.
The government has now extended the flu programme to include everyone 50 years old and over, plus household members of shielded patients. However, NHS England wants “at risk” patients prioritised first, and this second cohort of patients will be vaccinated towards the end of the year.
Children aged 2 years old and 3 years old are automatically eligible to be vaccinated by us. These will be done in our surgeries.
Children from 4 years old to 11 years old will be vaccinated at school, unless they fall into an “at risk” category.
From 1 December 2020, the flu vaccine became available for everyone aged 50 and over (including those who’ll be 50 by 31 March 2021).
If you would like a flu vaccine please ring 0300 234 5555 and book an appointment at the Granta site of your choice.
